Our Story

The idea for DET Design came from a personal challenge I faced as a single dad. Back in March 2023, I bought a Cupra Formentor and soon noticed an issue when my daughter would get into the car. She often had to look down at her iPad to watch videos, which was causing strain on both her eyes and back. It’s a small problem, but one that really bothered me.

I quickly realised that traditional Entertainment Mounts wouldn’t work in the Cupra Formentor because the car’s Sports Seats didn’t have the usual metal headrest supports. I started researching to see if there was a mount designed specifically for sports seats with a gap and to my surprise, I couldn’t find anything! That’s when it clicked: I could create a solution myself.

I made a custom mount for my own car, and not long after, a neighbour asked if I would sell them one. That got me thinking - if I needed something like this, others probably did too. So, I began researching and discovered there were many popular, everyday cars with similar "sporty" seat designs and there was a huge market that could benefit from a product like mine.

From there, I expanded my work, designing different mounts to fit various car models, and that's how DET Design was born! 

What started as a simple solution for my own problems has evolved into a commitment to deliver high-quality, innovative solutions to our valued customers at an affordable price.
